Class Environmental Assessment Process
The Study is being undertaken in accordance with MTO’s Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities, 2000 (Class EA) as a Group ‘B’ project. Group ‘B’ projects represent major improvements to provincial transportation facilities.
The online Public Information Centre (PIC) presented the design of the proposed intersection improvements and provided an opportunity for public input for consideration in the Study. The PIC was held from July 24 to August 7, 2023.
A Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) has been prepared, documenting MTO’s Class EA process and includes:
A description of the existing Study Area conditions;
A description and evaluation of the alternatives;
The Recommended Plan and the major features of the proposed work;
A description of the consultation completed for the Study;
Environmental impacts, mitigation, and protection measures that will be implemented; and
Identification of all project approvals, licenses and permits that have been or must be obtained and commitments to future work.
The TESR is currently available for a 30-day comment period from October 23 to November 21, 2024 to allow stakeholders an opportunity to provide comments. View the TESR online and learn how to submit comments.
